The sausage, with broccoli mozzarella and parmesan cheese give it a great flavor
Pizza Dough, I used store bought
1 Lb Sausage Meat
1 Bag Frozen Broccoli Florets
1 Lb Mozzarella
1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
Salt & Pepper
Oregano or Italian Seasoning
3 Cloves Garlic, crushed
Cook the broccoli following the package directions. Don’t overcook. Drain. In a medium skillet, add the broccoli with 3 tablespoons of olive oil and the garlic cloves. Heat on low heat, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes.
In a medium skillet, brown the sausage meat. Drain and set aside.
Preheat oven to 450º
There are two ways that I like to cook pizza at home. I have used both and they are equally good.
Stretch the dough into a 9-inch round pizza pan or a baking sheet. Brush with olive oil. Sprinkle with oregano or Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Bake until golden brown.
Top the hot crust with the sausage meat, broccoli, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Return to oven and cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Place a pizza stone or inverted baking sheet on the lowest rack in the oven. Let the oven heat up to 450º – 500º.
Lightly flour a pizza peel. If you don’t have a pizza peel, a piece of parchment paper will work fine. Stretch the dough and lay it on the peel or parchment paper. Brush it with olive oil, then sprinkle with oregano or Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Top with the sausage meat, broccoli and both cheeses.
If you are using the peel, slide the pizza off the peel and onto the stone or baking sheet. If you are using the parchment paper, put the pizza including the parchment paper on the stone or baking sheet. Bake until the crust is golden brown.
