Applesauce is a staple in every home. Everyone from babies through adults love applesauce. It is also such a great compliment to so many meals as well as a great snack. The best part is that it is so easy to make. You can customize it and make it as sweet or not sweet as you like. There is no comparison to the taste of freshly made applesauce. It’s great.
Ingredients
5 Cups Apples – chopped
1 TBSP Lemon Juice
1 tsp Cinnamon
¼ Cup Honey
1 Cup Apple Juice
Dash of Salt
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, add the apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, honey and ½ cup of apple juice. Simmer for 20-25 minutes until the apples are very soft. Add a dash of salt.
For chunky applesauce, mash the apples with a fork or with a potato masher.
For smooth applesauce, put the apple mixture into a blender and puree.
If the applesauce is to thick, add the remaining ½ cup of apple juice in small amounts until you have the desired consistency.
